KURF Fellows join the Security Flows Project!

We are excited to welcome two King's Undergraduate Research Fellows: Layla Farah (History and International Relations BA (Year 2)) & Jinhyun Jeff Kwon (Philosophy, Politics and Economics BA (Year 2)) to our Security Flows team.

Undergraduate students selected through the King's Undergraduate Research Fellowships (KURF) will work together with the team to further develop research on the role that social media plays in the assessment of evidence in asylum application cases. The research uses an archive of appeals before the Upper Tribunal in the UK to create a database around the main digital platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsApp, Viber etc.) used in the assessment of these cases. We are interested in investigating the circumstances in which these technologies are used as legal evidence and how they affect the appellants’ humanitarian protection needs.
